Gluten Free Soft Vanilla Sugar Cookies

Bake Time: 15 minuets

Oven Temperature: 350℉

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Butter (1 stick), softened
  • 8 tbsp Cream Cheese
  • ¼ cup Coconut Oil, melted
  • 1 ½ cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Apple Sauce Snack Cups (1/2 cup total)
  • 2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 3 cups Gluten Free ALL Purpose Flour
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder
  • Cream cheese frosting
  • Sprinkles (optional)
  • Natural Food Coloring (optional)

Recipe:

  1. Mix  together the softened butter, apple sauce, cream cheese, coconut oil, vanilla extract, and salt in a bowl until smooth. Then add in the brown sugar to the mix.
  2. Add in the baking powder then slowly add in the all purpose flour. Mix until all combined.
  3. If you want simple circle cookies: Preheat the oven to 350℉. Scoop the dough with a cookie scoop or spoon and place on an oiled pan. Lightly press down the cookies to make a circle. Continue scooping and pressing the cookie dough until you have no more dough left. Skip to step 6
  4. If you want shaped cookies: At the end of step 2, wrap the bowl with the cookie dough in plastic wrap and place in the fridge for 30+ minutes.
  5. Once ready to roll and bake, you will preheat the oven to 350℉. On a floured surface, roll out 1/4 to half of the dough. Cut out the dough using your favorite cookie cutters (hearts for valentines, flowers for spring) and place on an oiled pan. Continue rolling out the dough and cutting shapes until done (if you have left over dough you can eat as cookie dough).
  6. Bake Time! Bake the cookies for about 15 minutes. Once done, let them cool completely before frosting them.
  7. Decorating! One of the fun things about baking is can decorate however you want. I decorated my cookies with pastel pink, peach, and white colored frosting. I used store bought cream cheese frosting and divided it into 3 bowls, coloring with natural food coloring, each in a different color (except white). After frosting the cookies I put little heart shaped sprinkles on top (so cute)!
  8. Once you finish decorating serve and enjoy!
Happy Baking!

Love, Moriyah

Special Note
