The God of Miracles… 10 Years later
On this night 10 years ago, God miraculously spared my husband’s life and took what the enemy meant for harm and made it into something so beautiful. What could have completely shipwrecked our family, instead became the turning point that changed everything and has forever imprinted the fingerprints of God on our family. The details of the story are my husband’s to share but I will say, that night, 10 years ago, radically marked me to my core. The presence of God was so near.
I’ve had a few encounters with the Lord, that almost always have come in what seems to be the darkest of times, and then He shines His light so brightly that it is UNDENIABLE that He is God and that He takes the most broken moments and turns them into the very catalyst of our redemption and restoration and new life. He’s done it throughout human history, the greatest of moments being on the cross. Darkness, perceived defeat, death… and then three days later He did the unimaginable and conquered it all as He defeated sin and death on our behalf rising from the grave that Easter morning. It is in the very character of God to breathe life into dry bones.
And that’s what He did for us. So today I’m celebrating these bonus years of new life in our family, in our hearts, in our marriage, in our children and in the two additional babes He has blessed us with since it all happened.
I will never stop praising God for all He has done. Until my last breath and I’m given new breath in heaven, His praises shall continually be on my lips, and I suppose will go on for all eternity.
Whatever moments you have with the Lord where He has done incredible things in your life, remember them often. Tell the miracle stories to your children. Those stories are their inheritance that you pass down to them of the goodness and faithfulness of God. Those stories become like anchors for them in times of need. Tell them scripture daily. Let the good news of Jesus be the very soundtrack of your family. You will reap of harvest eternally by your faithfulness today.
So stay faithful.
