Pray for the persecuted church
There are countless stories, untold by the media, with zero protests or spotlights on, of attempts (mostly by Islamic terrorist) to annihilate Christians currently happening every single day.
As Christians in the West, who are so easily distracted with the idols of money, follower counts, people liking us, outfits of the day, decorating tips, vacation spots, view counts, popularity, stages, cars, homes, botox, body size, food, parties, scrolling social media, numbing our minds, arguments, being right and on and on the list goes of nonsense, we have brothers and sisters in Christ across the world who are being martyred for their faith in Jesus. Fathers, mothers, children, families, churches, villages of real people, who follow Jesus and are tortured and killed because of it.
Our hearts should feel something that causes us to stop our scrolls. We should ache for them. We should grieve over this. If the Spirit of God lives in us, we should feel this.
We need to be praying for them. We need to pray for their protection, for their hearts to stay strong in faith no matter the threat, for their boldness to stir up an even greater awakening and boldness in their nations and that the presence and peace of God will comfort and carry them in every moment.
We need to pray against the demonic forces. The attack on Christians throughout the world is so hard to fully comprehend for us in America but just try to imagine the radical courage and bravery it takes to boldly proclaim the name of Jesus, as a mother of young children, knowing it most likely will cost you your life.
They are UNWAVERING IN THEIR FAITH IN JESUS.
That should inspire us, change us and stir us to be even more bold in our lives, and yet so many scroll past the invitation to watch the next entertaining and mind dulling distraction instead.
I can’t keep watching silly videos of
things that don’t matter while things like
this are happening everyday.
Lord, give us eyes to see clearly.
