Start and end your days with scripture

I’ve been a mother for 20 years now, still with little ones in the home, waking me up all through the night. I understand a tired body and a weary soul. Which is why know I desperately need God’s Word washing over my mind and heart multiple times a day.

My time in the Word isn’t always quiet. Often times it can be loud in the house, trying to keep my coffee in hand steady without spilling it and a wee bit chaotic. Other times it’s perfectly still in the house, peaceful and wonderfully quiet while I’m wrapped in a cozy blanket with my Bible in hand. It’s kind of like meal times in a full house. There are seasons we can all sit together at the table and it feels perfect and exactly what I always imagined it would be in my dreams. Other times it’s been absolute survival mode of cereal for dinner in the living room while I’m dressed in the same clothes for days with baby spit up on me and dirty hair. But we’re still getting fed and that’s a win!

The point is, do whatever you have to do to get fed spiritually by the personal reading of God’s Word. Don’t rely on someone else to teach you. Seek the Lord yourself. Know the scriptures yourself. There are many deceivers in the world twisting the Word of God to serve their evil anti-Christ agendas. We need to be women and mothers grounded in the Bible for ourselves. It’s incredibly important. The future of your soul depends on it.

Know God’s Word. Live it. Breathe it. Study it. And then teach your children how to do it as well. It will be the greatest gift you can ever give them. It will be their peace, their guide in life, wisdom, truth, clarity, true joy and the anchor their souls need because it’s the Person of Jesus that you are teaching them to be in relationship with. The most important and valuable thing that you can teach your children is to know and walk with Jesus wholeheartedly.

Start every morning with the Bible. End every evening with the Bible. It will change your life.
