30 Days of Wellness | A gentle approach to whole-body health for Christian moms

30 Days of Wellness

A gentle approach to whole-body health for Christian moms

“He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.”

–Isaiah 40:11 ESV

THIS IS FOR YOU IF:

  • You’re a Christian mom

  • You want to deepen your relationship with the Lord

  • You feel physically and emotionally depleted

  • You crave peace

  • You feel exhausted

  • You want to lose weight/inflammation

  • You want to get stronger physically, emotionally and spiritually

  • You want to set a godly example for your children

Does this feel like you? If so, then you are in the right place. I want to help you on this journey of whole-body health and growing closer in your relationship with the Lord. This isn’t a challenge to make you feel guilty or less than. This is an opportunity to become a stronger and healthier mother and Christian.

It’s so important to prioritize our whole body health: spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically.

This isn’t seeing our bodies as an idol to be worshipped but as a temple of the Lord to take care of and steward well in order to carry out the missions and callings He has placed on our lives.

We can’t keep using our children or our busy season as an excuse to treat our bodies like trash by not exercising, eating poorly and not sleeping well. It’s BECAUSE we have children and busy seasons that we are choosing health right now. Our children aren’t the excuse but the reason we will fight for health and healing from the inside out.

As women and mothers, we set the example for our children on how to be healthy, how to prioritize exercise, time in God’s Word and eating food that fuels our bodies not inflames our bodies. They are watching what we do, not just what we say. We go first. We show them how to walk through trials with the peace of God because we are women of the Word, full of the Holy Spirit, walking daily with Jesus. And to be that woman, it takes us prioritizing what is most important and intentionally living it out everyday.

Do you want to be a woman who walks in the peace of her Heavenly Father? Do you want to be grounded and rooted in God’s Word, full of the Holy Spirit, and walking daily with Jesus? Do you want your children to grow up with a deep faith in the Lord? It starts with you. Will you take on this challenge?

Quick Rundown of Goals for the Next 30 Days

Daily reading /listening to the Bible

Strategic supplements for whole body health

Walking/Movement daily

INTERNAL WORK

We will guard our minds, our thoughts and our words during this challenge by:

  • reading and/or listening to the Bible daily and allowing the perfect work of the Holy Spirit to transform our minds which overflows into everything else

  • not complaining

  • not speaking badly about others or about ourselves (no body-shaming/mom-shaming self talk allowed)

PHYSICAL BODY WORK

  • The goal is to flood our bodies with the best minerals and whole-food supplements to give our bodies the building blocks needed to have the energy to not only give our best to our families but to feel our best too. We will take Ningxia and Mineral Essence daily. (I’ll go over in detail how to take it)

  • Walk 5,000 steps a day (about a 45 minute walk) if you are just beginning or have limited time. If you are more advanced, go for 10,000+ steps a day. Grab a weighted vest if you’re feeling extra.

  • Drink more water. Bonus points for adding in just a pinch of sea salt or pink Himalayan salt for boosted hydration.

  • Limit or avoid all processed sugar and anything inflammatory to your body (white flours, empty carbs, processed foods, dairy, gluten, etc). We want to reduce inflammation and give our bodies real God made foods that will support us, not hurt us.

  • Add in good fats (olive oil, coconut oil,  real butter, avocados) and solid proteins (chicken, beef, eggs, fish, beans).

Want to know a secret? If you are still on the fence about joining this challenge then I want to give you a gentle push.

YOUR CHILDREN + HUSBAND NEED YOU HEALTHY. The more health and wellness of mind, body, spirit you have, the more you will bless your family. What you do will overflow to them. YOU taking care of YOU is part of how you take care of your family. It’s putting that oxygen mask on yourself first in an emergency situation so you can help them. Your family needs you to be strong and able to do everything God has called you to do and that means you can’t keep avoiding your physical and internal health. Think about your grandchildren and great grandchildren. They need you to be strong and vibrant, full of Jesus and pouring into their precious hearts too. Do this for the future generations!

God knows the number of days we have on this earth. It’s already been set. But that doesn’t mean we have to go out suffering and weak because of age or poor management of our bodies. I want to end my race well and strong like Moses and Caleb did.

“Moses was 120 years old when he died. His eye was undimmed, and his vigor unabated.”

–Deuteronomy 34:7 ESV

“And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, just as he said, these forty-five years since the time that the Lord spoke this word to Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness. And now, behold, I am this day eighty-five years old. I am still as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me; my strength now is as my strength was then, for war and for going and coming.” (Caleb speaking) –Joshua 14:10-11 ESV

FOLLOWING JESUS

If nothing else, as Christians, we should be following Jesus’ example.

Jesus would get alone to pray with the Father.

“But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray.” –Luke 5:16 ESV

“And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.” –Mark 1:35 ESV

“And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone,” –Matthew 14:23 ESV

Jesus told his disciples to get away and rest awhile when they were weary from ministry.

“And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat.” –Mark 6:31 ESV

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”–Matthew 11:28 ESV

Jesus (in human form as fully God and fully man) was strong and physically able to walk long distances, fast for long periods of time, and was disciplined in his body to endure what He needed to accomplish.

We should follow His example too.

“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” –1 Corinthians 16:19-20

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”

–Romans 12:1

“for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.”

–1 Timothy 4:8
