Two things:

1. Today I told my kids the story of William Tyndale who literally gave his life in order to translate the Bible into English. I cried reading his story. What a legacy. I pray that my children (and myself) live boldly and passionately for the furtherance of the gospel and share the love of Jesus unashamed, regardless of the current culture.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16

It’s so good and sobering to remember that the Bible we hold in our hands today came at the cost of so many laying their lives down for us to have it.

I’m so grateful for the example of men like William Tyndale and I pray to raise children that will have a powerful impact on this world for Jesus.

2. I want to imitate Jesus and He was strong both physically and spiritually.

The physical ministry of Jesus:

-He was first a carpenter (lifting, building, cutting) which is very physical and helps build strength.

-Walking far distances

-Strong enough to physically fast 40 days. If you’ve ever tried fasting even a few days, you can get weary and weak quickly. To make it 40 days, you have to have gone into it very physically strong.

He came as a human and took on our human weaknesses but He also physically prepared Himself for what He came to do.

I want to imitate Him. I want to be physically prepared for the ministries God has called me to do. My most important ministry is in my home with my family. I’m want to be a mama with enough energy and strength and ability to take care of my home, hold all the babies, to be present with my children and husband without being completely exhausted and out of shape. Motherhood can be physically taxing so prioritizing strength training, exercise, taking care of my body, I’m preparing myself physically (along with the spiritual side of growing in wisdom through reading God’s Word) so that I’m ready to say yes to everything I’m called to.
